Trio of top positions for dedicated staff at Eden Motor Group car dealership

CAR dealership Eden Motor Group has appointed three operations directors in the past 12 months, all of whom have risen through the ranks after joining the business at a young age.

Mike Earle, Matt Gill and Russell Catlow are all under 40 and have been appointed to senior roles at Eden, which operates 24 dealerships in the south.

The three men rose through the corporate ranks, gaining recognition for their efforts and embracing the Eden family culture.

Mike took up a position as Operations Manager after joining Eden in 2012 as Sales Manager at Eden Vauxhall in Fareham.

Prior to his current role, Mike was Regional Manager overseeing sites in Oxfordshire and Berkshire, and played a central role in setting up Eden’s Approved Used operation.

“I was never really an academic.” Mike said. “So when I started my career, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do.

“But I’ve always loved interacting with people and talking, and I’ve always loved cars, so I thought a job in car sales might be a good opportunity for me. I was delighted when Eden took me.

“Not only that, but over the next few years I realized that the culture within the company was where they nurtured talent and nine years later I found myself in a role I never would have. never imagined playing when I was younger.”

Matt was appointed Operations Manager this summer after starting his career as Sales Manager at Eden Reading. He then became Managing Director of four Group sites in Vauxhall before becoming Group Regional Director in the Thames Valley.

He said, “I joined Eden from a sales environment where I never would have had the opportunities Eden gave me, but the company’s leadership development program really helped me. opened doors. It’s the culture that makes the difference – we’re treated equally and encouraged to thrive.

Russell joined as Sales Manager in Taunton in February 2016, then moved on to a position as Branch Manager in Torquay before moving into a Regional Manager role in the South West in 2018. He was also appointed as Director of operations this summer.

Russell said: “Before Eden, I worked for a completely margin-driven dealership. At Eden, it’s different.
