The club are now set to sign Arsenal ‘leaders’ in the coming hours

Arsenal may be able to announce the imminent departure of a player, with the report by Gianluca Di Marzio that Udinese hopes to close a loan deal for Pablo Mari in the next few hours.

Mari has been linked with estrangement from the Emirates throughout the early stages of the January transfer window. The Spaniard hasn’t played in the Premier League since August.

It was recently reported that a multitude of parties wanted Mari. They included Villarreal and former Arsenal boss Unai Emery. But it has also been claimed that Udinese is among a number of Serie A teams considering a deal.

And it looks like the Bianconeri are on the verge of a deal. Gianluca Di Marzio suggested that the two clubs have been in talks about a move.

And Udinese hopes to seal a deal in the next few hours. Mari will be moving to Italy on loan – apparently for the remainder of the season.

Pablo Mari’s loan to Udinese could still prove useful for Arsenal

Obviously, it looks like Mari isn’t going back to being a regular player on Arsenal’s side again. So, perhaps a permanent sale seemed ideal.

However, a loan could still prove useful to Mikel Arteta, who once described Mari as a “leader‘. It’s apparently £ 85,000 a week in the Emirates, according to Spotrac.

Of course, a lot can depend on what part of his salary Udinese will cover. But his departure frees up decent payroll space as the coming weeks approach.

And it can help Mari to highlight and increase her worth before summer.
