Liverpool keen to sign Philippe Coutinho again

In the 2018 winter transfer window, Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and so far they have not directly replaced the Brazilian.

The Reds lack a midfielder, who can consistently score and create goals like the Samab star did at Anfield. Therefore, Klopp needs a natural CAM / No.10 and reports suggest they are considering bringing Coutinho back.

According to Goal.com, Liverpool are looking to sign the former Inter Milan playmaker, who is also on Everton and Aston Villa’s radar. Barca have broken their transfer record to attract him but now they are looking to sell him to reduce their payroll.

The renowned news source mentioned that the 29-year-old star wanted to return to the Premier League where he excelled under Jurgen Klopp. Since leaving for Spain, he has not made any progress in his career.

In the summer transfer window, Spanish media Sport reported that the playmaker’s main wish is to secure a return to Liverpool. Moreover, in September 2021 El Nacional reported that Barca were ready to fire him but Klopp was not interested.

Coutinho became a superstar at Anfield and was absolutely adored by the Kop. Therefore, moving to his big rival Everton would tarnish his relationship with Liverpool fans.

Aston Villa are currently managed by Steven Gerrard, who knows the qualities of his former team-mate but the Villa Park roster cannot offer him football at the highest level. A return to Liverpool will also ensure a return to Champions League football.

The former Inter Milan star’s current Camp Nou deal will expire in the summer of 2023 and he earns a salary of around £ 240,000 a week (Mirror Sport).

In your opinion, should Liverpool move in to finally re-sign Philippe Coutinho this month?
