United manager Erik ten Hag said on Monday the 37-year-old Portugal international was absent from the club for the start of pre-season preparations due to a personal issue, but he confirmed he would expected him to stay at Old Trafford.

“No, we’re planning with Ronaldo for this season so that’s it, and I’m looking forward to working with him,” Ten Hag said. told reporters. “I don’t know. He didn’t tell me that, so I read, but what I say [is] Cristiano is not for sale. He is part of our plans and we want to succeed together.”
