Baylor Football announces staff additions and promotions

WACO, TX- Baylor head football coach Dave Aranda announced numerous additions and promotions to his coaching and support staff on the heels of the most successful season in program history.

Ronnie Wheat joins the Bears as an assistant coach working with safeties and special teams after two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Nevada. Wheat served as the linebackers coach last season after working as a safety coach in 2020. Prior to his stint with the Wolfpack, Wheat spent seven seasons as a senior defensive analyst at LSU, including four seasons working with Aranda, culminating in 2019 National Championship.

Dallas Baker was added as an assistant coach working with wide receivers. He comes to Waco after spending a season in the same position as the University at Buffalo. Prior to that, he spent four seasons as a wide receivers coach at Marshall University. Baker also spent time as a wide receivers coach and passing games coordinator at Warner University following a career in professional football. He spent three seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, helping them win a Super Bowl title after the 2008 season. Baker was drafted from the University of Florida after playing with the Gators from 2003-2006, the helping to win the 2007 BCS National Championship.

Keava Soil-Cormier has joined the Football Support Staff as Associate DA for Player Personnel. She has spent the past seven seasons at LSU, most recently as Assistant Director of LSU Recruiting Operations, where she was responsible for organizing and overseeing all special events associated with football recruiting. Soil-Cormier originally joined the staff at LSU in 2014 as a recruitment analyst.

Jeff Grigus joined the Bears as director of football operations, following four seasons as LSU’s assistant director of football operations. The 2010 LSU graduate also spent eight seasons as an equipment manager at his alma mater.

Monique Felix has taken on the role of Associate Director of Football Operations after serving as Character Development Coordinator for the past eight months. Felix originally joined Baylor in July 2020 as an Operations Assistant at the Student-Athlete Center of Excellence (SACE).

Tyler Foster has been named associate director of player personnel, following a season as an offensive analyst at Kansas State. Foster previously served as a scouting analyst at Oklahoma State and was a running game coordinator and running backs coach at Kimball High School in Dallas.

Aaron Hunt has been elevated to assistant AD for scouting after serving as a recruiting and personnel assistant last season. Prior to joining the staff in January 2021, he served as the director of 306 Elite Performance and Development in Denison, Texas, a nonprofit organization he founded to run camps, leagues, and afterschool programs for youth in seventh grade and below.

Connor Morgan has been named player personnel coordinator. He joined the Baylor staff in March as a staff assistant after working as a recruiting specialist for the University of Alabama from 2017-21, where he appeared in two national championships.
