Avon Church is looking for clearance items

AVON, CT — Donations for the Congregational Church of Avon’s 40th Annual Charity Sale can be dropped off at the church, located at 6 West Main St., beginning this weekend.

They can be given on the following dates/times during the day: Sunday, September 18 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.); Monday to Thursday, September 19 to 22 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Evening donation hours are Monday and Tuesday, September 19 and 20 (5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

The one-day-only rummage sale is Saturday, September 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A collection agent will let you know what items the church can take away once dropped off.

All items must be dropped off during the times indicated when an agent is on duty.

Auction organizers are looking for tableware, art, silverware, antiques, folk art, jewelry, collectibles, vintage toys, fine table linens and decorative housewares .

The church will also collect general “finer” household items, lamps, and newer small appliances (like blenders, toasters, air fryers, and other useful kitchen items).

When it comes to furniture donations, the church is only looking for antiques and smaller “occasional furniture”. elements.
